Customer Feedback

I have been asked to send a report to interested parties with regard to the Delphis chemical trials held at Fitness First Aintree, Liverpool.

Firstly I, like many others, was sceptical with regard to the lack of odour in the trailed chemicals and was concerned that the cleaning staff would not take the trial seriously. (They have been there over 9 years and very old fashioned).

The other issue I had was that the Fitness First General Manager, Keith McMurdo, favourite phrase was "if it smells nice it’s clean".

FF Aintree was always known for nasty smelling toilets partly due to the following factors, male customers having no sense of ownership and regularly urinating on the floor, cubicle side panels being old and ingrained with urine, they flare out at the bottom due to being constantly re-wet. It is also partly due to the chemicals supplied before the trial, I my opinion, possibly just masking the smell for a short period.

The toilets are near the foyer and possibly contributed to the stale smell when entering the gym.

Warren and Dave (Delphis) started the trial on the first Tuesday in August. They came in with just 3 chemicals, a wash room cleaner for all cleaning in wet areas, changing rooms and toilets. They brought an anti-bac chemical for everywhere else including, floors, walls, equipment and glass/mirrors. They also gave us a toilet cleaner. They told us to put chemical in the mop bucket for one day then just mop over the floor with a damp mop the next day as this would reactivate the chemical components. When the guys had finished cleaning they should pour the used mop water down the drain and this would clean it.

It all sounded very farfetched and hard to believe, however, the guys took to the trial very well. With the support from Delphis, FF Aintree is a far better place.

As you walk into the gym you can notice the difference, even after the first 3 days it had all bad smells eliminated. There is an odour when you enter the gym which I can only describe as fresh air and the toilets which are cleaned at 6am smell fresh even at 8pm. The transformation is remarkable; I have monitored the gym closely due to living not far from it and we are getting positive comments from members I have spoken to. The most credible comments came from the GM who is a very tough manager said "I have no issues with the cleaning or odours in the gym" he even gave the team 8/10 for cleaning and Aintree had an audit score above 90%.

Warren has agreed to leave the chemicals in place until Nov 10 this should maintain the cleanliness in the gym. The chemical cost is approximately £16.00 per 5 litres, however, the 5litre of wash room cleaner was 1/3rd full and the anti-bac was 2/3rds full at the end of the month’s trial, with a total cost of about £20.00. This site could use 4 x 5litres of lemon gel per month which it has now been proven, only masked the odours and didn’t last very long.

I would strongly recommend these products as they would, I am sure, enhance any work place.

I will take the results of the trial to my next employer and recommend they allow Delphis to trial in one or more of their establishments.

“Iceland were looking for a renewed focus on cleaning and through extensive trials were able to choose Delphis products as they were proven to be effective, user friendly and also offered cost reductions. The Eco Flower accreditation was an added bonus.”

Nathan Davies - GNFR Buyer

"After the initial product selection, all products passed the testing during the trial stage.

Careful planning was needed regarding the logistics of rolling out to our many stores, the training required (both with the cleaning chemicals and any change to cleaning method), and the run down of any existing chemicals.

The roll out proved to go very smoothly, Delphis provided excellent support throughout and we have continued to benefit from the changeover and have extended our use of the products beyond the initial concept.”

“I chose to use Delphis as my main supplier of cleaning products, as I needed a product I could trust, to work in line with our expectations in caring for the environment.  I found the technology behind the product could be proven and explained extremely well in layman terms by your professionals. The proof was also in the pudding when it came to cleaning power.  We now use fewer products to gain greater results.  With the support of your professionals we were able to give training to our Team and ensure the products were used to their full potential, thus counteracting any price differential to other manufacturer’s products. The Defra flower was also a great selling point, which has impressed our BSI auditors to no end.”

“The Brindleyplace Service Team recently conducted a successful trial of environmentally friendly cleaning products. The trial was conducted by replacing our previous products used to clean the multi-storey car park with new products provided by Delphis Eco. The trial has been extremely successful and has demonstrated that the products now being used are of an equal quality to those previously used. A further benefit was highlighted through the cost savings associated with using these products. The products are now being used in every aspect of the Service Team’s duties.”
