We Have Updated Our Environmental Policy

Delphis Eco is the leading British manufacturer of ecological cleaning products. We are the only UK Company to exclusively produce environmentally friendly cleaning products for the commercial sector and the first to be awarded the EU Ecolabel (for cleaning products). We believe we have a responsibility to care for and protect the environment in which we operate and are committed to improving environmental performance across all our business activities.  We also encourage our business partners to support us in this effort.

Our certified cleaning products work effectively across all sectors, notably: housekeeping, catering and washrooms. Our products are food prep safe, unique, innovative and at the forefront of technology. They are more powerful and safer than the multitude of chemicals currently available. This environmental policy applies to the London Office only and therefore does not include our warehouse in Liverpool or the office in South Africa.

Protecting our shared environment is of fundamental importance to Delphis Eco, as it is to our employees, customers, and other stakeholders. To support this common goal, we will:

  • Comply with applicable local and governmental environmental regulations.

  • Continually improve the environmental performance of our products and processes.

  • Protect the health and safety of our employees and surrounding communities and ecosystems.

  • Use natural resources, including raw materials, energy, and water, as efficiently as possible.

  • Commit to the prevention of pollution and minimisation of waste.

We will work to achieve these commitments by:

  • Requiring environmental awareness training of all our employees and more specific environmental training where appropriate.

  • Providing stickers and information sheets around the office to remind our employees of the everyday things they can do to help the planet

  • Introducing ‘No Printing Thursday’ in which our employees are prohibited from printing documents on a Thursday in an effort to cut our annual paper usage by 20%

  • Evaluating products and processes from the point of view of chemical risk, dedicating ourselves to finding better alternatives based on preventing pollution in the first place.

  • Considering the risks of our raw materials and products at all stages of our product’s life, placing priority on risks present during our production process and during our customers’ use of our products.

  • Working collaboratively with our customers, suppliers, and the surrounding community on environmental issues.

We will make every effort to ensure that environmental performance is an integral part of Delphis Eco’s performance and of the performance of all of our employees. To this end, we will measure and periodically report on our progress in realizing these commitments.

Our entire Company ideology revolves around being ‘green at every stage’. As a manufacturer and supplier Delphis Eco recognises our key impacts to be in the areas of: packaging, materials used in our products, transport, customer education and innovation.

Our bottles and labels are 100% recyclable. Our level of focus is such that our trigger sprays have plastic springs in them to make the recycling process more efficient.  We focus down to the label ink and label glue on our bottles to ensure they are as environmentally friendly as possible. We constantly looking for innovations in packaging that push environmental boundaries.

Under the Society of the Plastics Industry resin identification coding system, we only use products with recycle levels of 1 and 2, which is the highest possible. We have eliminated all unnecessary packaging and look to ship concentrates where possible. We manufacture in England for the UK market, and as international interest in our products grows, we will look to manufacture locally to reduce our carbon miles impact.

The Health and Safety of our end users is a prime concern for us and at the centre of our R&D strategy. Our products were first developed to protect cleaning staff in the confined spaces of ships. Our ready-to-use products do not require toxic, harmful or corrosive labelling and as such are less hazardous to the health of its users.

Delphis Eco believes that in all aspects of its business we can make an ecological choice to improve environmental sustainability.  http://www.delphiseco.com/about/about.asp
