Usage
For general stain removal:

When a spill occurs, act quickly. First, remove any residue from the fabric and thoroughly rinse it with cold water. Then, apply our Stain Remover and gently massage the solution into the fabric using either a dry or damp cloth (you can also agitate with a brush for deep stains). Rinse the fabric once more with cold water and repeat the process if necessary. For stubborn stains, reapply the Stain Remover and allow it to sit for 2 minutes before laundering with our Non-Bio Laundry Powder.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Stain Remover work?

Our formula includes bio-based ingredients that dissolve (or eat away at) the stain, weakening the connection between the stain and the fabric. Then, biodegradable cleaning agents attach to what’s left of the stain and pull it into the surrounding water. This direct action ensures stains are effectively lifted and dispersed, leaving fabrics clean, clear and ready for another day.

Why is this product better than conventional stain removers?

Most conventional stain removers use optical brighteners or bleaches to lighten stains, which are harmful to aquatic life and can also damage your clothing. They also often include fragrances - something entirely unnecessary for a garment which is going straight in the wash. We only use fragrances when absolutely necessary (like in some of our urinal products) – fragrances make the formulation less biodegradable in the waterways and can cause respiratory and skin irritations.

Can I use the Stain Remover on a cold wash?

Yes, our Stain Remover can effectively remove stains at any temperature.

How do I get rid of make-up stains on my clothes?

Make-up stains can be resilient due to their adhesive and oily nature. They contain oils, waxes, and metallic organic pigments that can dye fabric permanently. Act fast by pre-treating with our Stain Remover, followed by rinsing it with cold water rinse and repeat, if necessary, before applying our Stain Remover and launder with our Non-Bio Laundry Powder in a warm water wash.

How do I get rid of sweat stains and odours?

Body sweat is mainly water, salt, and oil. Armpit sweat, more complex post-puberty, contains proteins, and lipids. All those biological materials then mingle with any underarm products you’re applying. Therefore, biological substances, bacteria
growth, and deodorants all can play a role in the development of yellow or grey patches, mixing with deodorants and antiperspirants, leading to yellow or grey patches. These stains can be invisible initially but may emit odour over time, even after washing.

As soon as the sweat odour starts to smell after washes, act fast. To kill the bacteria growth first put your garments in a bag in the freezer overnight, then apply our Stain Remover on the patch and use our Non-Bio Laundry Powder in the wash for thorough cleaning.

How do I get rid of blood stains?

Blood stains are stubborn, mainly because they are iron-based stains, which react to the oxygen in the air, forming strong bonds to inner fabric layers. At high temperatures, the clogging process is accelerated, so when it comes to blood stains, cold water is your best friend.

Ideally, act fast and soak immediately in cold water and rub with our Stain Remover, rinse with cold water, apply again and put it in the wash with Non-Bio Laundry
Powder
.

How to I get rid of wine stains?

Water and ethanol make up about 98% of wine, while the remaining 2% includes tannins, pigments called anthocyanins, and chromophores which is what are the main staining culprits. The tannins and anthocyanins are also some of the main players in
making red wine an oxidising stain, so it will bind to fabrics if not treated quickly.

But the acid in the wine plays a role in staining, too, especially if the garment is made of natural fibres or certain synthetic fibres, like nylon. For example, when cotton is dyed, it’s acid-washed before colour is applied. This acid wash opens the pores of the cotton to make it absorb the pigments better. So, when the acid in the wine contacts our cotton-based clothes, it functions the same. It opens the pores of the cotton. So when the pigments from the grape skin come down to the fibre…it’s like dyeing your clothes. But, never fear, if you act fast you can remove the stain before it sets.

Apply Stain Remover on the stain as soon as possible, let it sit for 3 minutes, then rub and rinse the area using cold water or put it on a cold wash with our Non-Bio Laundry
Powder
.

What fabric materials can I use this Stain Remover on?

Our Stain Remover can be used on linen, raynon, denim, cotton, polyester, spandex, lace, nylon, wool, fleece, cashmere, bamboo fibres. Always patch test on a small area first, take care with delicate fabrics like silks. Do not use on leather chiffon and velvet.
