This Earth Day, businesses, individuals, governments, and NGOs all over the globe are demanding a 60% reduction in virgin plastics globally by 2040.
Not only is plastic hugely carbon-intensive to produce, it's waste is leeching into our environments; with an estimated 5.25 TRILLION micro-plastic pieces found in the ocean.
We are THRILLED to announce that we will soon be moving to 67% recycled triggers, which, along with our 100% recycled bottles, means we are close to completely removing virgin plastic from our packaging.
To help you understand how much recycled content is present in the products you buy, we're developed this percentage score, which is included on all our labels. This mark helps keep you informed, and keeps us accountable.
It took our founder, Mark Jankovich, over 6 years to create the infrastructure to exclusively use British post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) for our product bottles, and we were the 1st company in our industry to do so. This process reduces carbon emissions by 61% when compared with virgin plastic. And, by using only local waste, we're reducing our impact even further by avoiding transport emissions from importing overseas plastic waste.
Whilst we really encourage you to reuse your spray bottle and refill using our concentrated refill ranges, the type of plastic we use (HPDE - High Density Polyethylene - mainly British milk bottles) is also much more likely to accepted by recycling centres. In fact, HPDE forms part of only 9% of plastic commonly recycled worldwide.
Innovation in design means our triggers contain no mixed materials, or metal springs, and work through a vacuum pump system. This enables them to be fully recyclable, as they can be easily sorted at the waste facility.
Plus, they're built to last, to be reused over and over again. 10,000 times in fact. Check out our refill range to ensure your trigger can go further.
We endeavour to close the loop on our business operations where ever we can, and our delivery packaging is no exception. We were the first to introduce a 100% FSC-certified recycled packaging solution, including the box liner (most box liners are made using virgin materials).
